Jeffrey Neuman

Jeffrey Neuman's work has appeared at theaters and festivals across the United States and United Kingdom. His plays have been recognized by the Actors Theatre of Louisville, Emerging Artists Theatre Company, the New York Innovative Theatre Awards, and the Samuel French Off Off Broadway Festival, among others. He was a finalist for the 2012 Heideman Award and recently published Modern Goddesses: Two Short Plays of Mythic Proportions with JAC Publishing & Promotions.

In 2000, Jeffrey was commissioned by the Denver Center’s acclaimed Wilbur J. Gould Voice Research Center to develop and direct Paul Revere: The Voice Heard ‘Round the World, an outreach program designed to teach children about vocal health. The piece was performed in a number of elementary schools in and around the Denver metro area, reaching over 40,000 students.

As a director and dramaturg, Jeffrey has worked for the Colorado Shakespeare Festival, the University of Colorado at Boulder, and the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. He has presented professional papers for the Association for Theater in Higher Education, the American Alliance of Theatre Education, and the American Music Research Center. In 2009, his original research was acknowledged in the book Kander and Ebb, an installment in the Yale University Press Broadway Masters series.

Jeffrey is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America and the Rocky Mountain Theatre Association.

Outside of his playwriting activities Jeff has worked in a variety of management and marketing roles – everything from customer service to community relations and PR.  He currently works in custom printing services and facilitates literary events for the Denver Post's esteemed Pen & Podium series.

He lives in Denver with his partner (Mark) and his poodles (George and Ira).
